Allow us to introduce ourselves. Our names are Carolyn S. and Delia B. This website is part of our Girl Scout Silver Award. The Silver award is a small group project and the goal is to create an everlasting change that benefits the community.
For our Silver award, we composed an informational flyer which contains facts and tips on the dangers of puppy drownings and how to puppy-proof homes. We have given this flyer to local animal shelters and veterinary offices in our area to include in their new adoption puppy packets. We also created this website to further inform the community of this important issue.
We have named our project “The Bella Project” in honor of the tragic loss of Bella, our friend’s newly adopted puppy who was only 3 months old when she drowned. This was a very traumatic and upsetting experience for everyone involved and has in turn, made us think of what we can do to help prevent this from ever happening again to new dog owners.
If you have questions you can contact your veterinarian, professional dog trainer, or Governor Animal Clinic (858) 453-6312.
